We are very happy to announce the start of the DL Bellbrook Academy. The partnership between Dayton’s local professional soccer club, the Dayton Dutch Lions FC, and Bellbrook’s biggest soccer club, Bellbrook Soccer Association, has led to the birth of a combined effort to provide the best possible development opportunity for local soccer players in Bellbrook. The DL Bellbrook academy is an additional training program for local soccer players of the ages 4 – 10 (in 2 groups, ages 4-7 and 8-10) who are interested in developing fundamental soccer skills.
In this training program, the first basic skills of soccer are taught to the soccer players. Getting more familiar with the ball and learning basic skills such as dribbling, toe taps, boxing and rolling the ball are key components in the curriculum. The training sessions are on basic skills that are the foundation to becoming better players. Of course at the end of every practice, the players will get the opportunity to showcase what they have learned that session in a short scrimmage.
We highly recommend this program in order to learn the right skills at a young age are vital in the development of every youth soccer player. Learning these skills at a young age will give the player a huge advantage playing soccer at an older age.
Our partnership with Bellbrook Soccer will also provide Coaching development. We encourage the recreational coaches to attend and observe during these training sessions. Coaches will learn the drills used to develop players fundamental skills and how to translate those skills into game situations.
